Objectives

Develop a culture of change and sustainability, creating the background for effective climate change education to boost behavioural change and better adaptation to our changing world,

Upskill the educators with science and social-based competences that has the required impacts in how they can empower individuals and drive appropriate climate adaptation action,

Empower individuals with personally relevant and meaningful information, focused on achievable behavioural changes and appropriate climate adaptation action,

Provide a set of innovative and cutting-edge training resources, available in digital and open media, to empower educators and individuals,

Boost European dimension and cooperation, through the participation of nine countries representing various regions who are experiencing climate change´s impacts and organisations of two transnational experience exchanges with educational peers,

Engage associated partners, experts and key stakeholders in development, validation, dissemination and mainstreaming actions, through the local working groups and multiplier events.

Outputs

Output 1

Step Framework: Step-by-step framework based on real-world education to boost appropriate climate adaptation action. Responding to the issues and challenges of effective climate change education, this framework will help institutions involved in adult education to boost behavioural change and better support individuals to adapt to our changing world. It will be developed in an infographic format.

Output 2

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme: The aim of this output is to design a bespoke and flexible continuous professional development programme to upskill adult educators on climate change adaptation. The CPD will offer a circular learning path to reflect the particular training needs of the educators and equip them with modules guidance, tutorials, practical tips, useful reading. A set of core and integrative modules will be designed and include a range of thematic areas

Output 3

Massive Open Online Course (MOOC): The aim of this output is to develop and pilot a bespoke MOOC for boosting adaptation to climate change of individuals. The MOOC will offer a flexible learning path and a package of interactive contents designed to achieve the learning outcomes structured in a real-word education and competency-based system.

Output 4

Digital Learning Hub: The aim of this output is to develop a multilingual learning portal as a single window offering open and instant access to learning contents. It will include all the aforementioned outputs.

CEDRU – Centro de Estudos e Desenvolvimento Regional e Urbano (Research Centre for Urban and Regional Development) is a leading portuguese consultancy company in the field of territorial planning and studies at national, regional, local and urban levels. More than 30 years of experience in carrying out studies and plans in different domains and areas of intervention give CEDRU a diversified and deep knowledge capital recognized by the portuguese and international entities with which it has collaborated. In the past few years, CEDRU has become one of the most relevant players in the development of climate change adaptation policies in Portugal, mostly by leading consortiuns of university research teams and consultancy companies, but also as sectoral experts. Currently, CEDRU leads the consortia responsible for the development of the Metropolitan Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area and 3 Intermunicipal Adaptation Plans and is also developing 7 Municipal Plans for Adaptation to Climate Change. CEDRU is also a founding member of the Network of Municipalities for Local Adaptation to Climate Change, currently integrating its Management Secretariat.

CIEP is the education and training service of the Christian Worker Movement and its constitutive organizations such as the ANMC – Alliance Nationale des Mutualités chrétiennes (+ 4 million members) and the CSC – National Confederation of Christian trade unions (+ 1,5 million affiliates) and JOC youth movement… CIEP is active in the field of training, accompanying and sensitizing of young and adult people in French speaking Belgium part, provides tools and training activities (grassroots education and training) mainly for managers, staff and activists of social organizations, as well as for vulnerable audiences like jobseekers, youngsters, migrants, women…

CIEP fulfill, as a training and cultural movement, a whole range of information, animation, education and training activities about cultural, economic, social and political issues. The main concern of CIEP is empowering individuals and groups by giving them the necessary tools to help them in their engagement as citizens and stakeholders participating in the development of an open multicultural and democratic societies. Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) is a Research and Development organization which focuses on fostering social innovation that can bring about a positive change to local, national, regional and global contexts. CSI belief, is that the four pillars of Social Interaction, Education, Development and Economic Rationalization coupled with fundamentally sound and sustainable solutions as well as disruption to streamlined solutions to systemic social problems can lead to creative solutions that impact significant change to the social fabric of every society. CSI is working closely to address social, economic and cultural challenges with governments, local administrative agencies, non for profit agencies, commercial entities, and educational institutions. We identify and address systemic challenges through evidence based research, state of the art investigation of global, national, regional and local solutions, developing solutions by taking into consideration the local ecosystem, cultural dynamics, meet the stakeholders needs and implementing those solutions as we keep constant vigilance to ensure continual feedback loop and adjustments. The feedback mechanisms and processes we employ allow us certainty in keeping in touch with our stakeholders and continually update our social solutions proposition. CSI team is composed of open-minded, fully equipped researchers, educators, social workers, social entrepreneurs, project managers, trainers and Information Technology Developers. CSI encompasses the capability and capacity to identify social needs, design and implement adjusted initiatives and project and provide for sustainable growth. The areas of expertise are in the fields of social integration, intercultural education, Vocational Education and Training, labor, education planning and e-learning, project management, project evaluation services, product validation, and training.

The Eco Trend Association was established in 2006 with several objectives, like: environmental and living heritage protection according to the sustainable development criteria, promoting sustainable development ideas on local and regional level. All the members of the organization are environmental engineers and managers. The Association is independent from any political party or economic interest.

In addition, we have collaborated with young people and adults to deliver a range of diverse programmes in the areas of media production and career management – supporting the next generation of creative individuals to build and sustain successful careers in the sector. “IASIS” is non-governmental, non-profit organization active in the field of Social Inclusion, Mental Health and De-institutionalization, which actively participates in the psychiatric reform promoted by the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity and the European Union. IASIS has an official registration as Private Non-Profit Organization and a Special Registration in Voluntary Non-Governmental Organizations Lists handled by General Directorate of Welfare. The organization also has Management Competence System certified by the Special Service / Department of Health and Social Solidarity. Organization’s main objective is to provide psychosocial support and education to people who either belong to the range of or are at risk of exclusion, and to adult learners in the humanitarian field.

INFODEF Institute for the Promotion of Development and Training, is a private and independent centre for Research, Development and Innovation whose mission is to design and carry out projects that contribute to achieve a sustainable and inclusive development through education, culture and innovation.
The centre designs and develops innovative tools, methodologies, products and services that respond to current social and economic challenges and enable to anticipate and drive the changes needed to achieve future goals and objectives in society.
One of the main areas of expertise of INFODEF is the design of innovative methodologies and tools to support the activity of the professional that work with specific target groups, such as young people, migrants, low-skilled adults, people with disabilities, offenders and other unprivileged groups.
INFODEF has participated or coordinated European projects in the field of innovation applied to youth, education and training, funded by the Lifelong Learning, Erasmus+ or Horizon 2020 programmes of the European Commission.

The aim of People Help the People is to create opportunities for cooperation and partnership between the EU countries and the Mediterranean, weaving a dense network of intercultural exchange that allows to export best practices from one country to other, in pursuit of greater integration between peoples. Integration that represents not only an increase in terms of purely human but also a lever for economic development and social redemption.
All activities of the Association are directed to the achievement of the goals of social solidarity and cultural promotion, actions and activities aimed primarily at disadvantaged or under conditions of social vulnerability, in the fields of education, health, social services, environmental protection, with the involvement of public authorities (European Union, Countries of the Mediterranean basin, the Italian state, Regions and Municipalities) and private entities.
