Link to the Case Study:
The Metro Atlanta Urban Farm is a a self-sustaining unit where healthy, local food is grown. At the same time, a community is being created around the farm, which, in addition to growing healthy food, is raising awareness of its environmental responsibility.
This example shows that it is possible to grow healthy food locally, cheaply and without the need to import food from elsewhere, thus reducing the ecological footprint of transport.
This is a good example to see how much we can do by ourselves to protect the environment by growing our own food with our friends, which can eventually can be organized into a larger community, even an entire city.
Sharing and disseminating this and similar examples on social media can inspire and encourage others to start similar projects.
Individuals can take small steps towards environmental action, and if it works well, over time many will join in and it will grow into a mass movement, contributing to environmental protection on a large scale.
